1. When were you first introduced to Bikram Yoga?

I was first introduced to Bikram yoga about 4 years ago when I checked out the Bikram Yoga Studio in Brickell with fellow BYCM-er, Melissa Mitchell.

2. Please describe your first experience.

I was terrified before I got there and convinced I was going to pass out. I just remember making it all the way through class but being a feeling lost and not quite understanding the posture, but I knew I wanted more.

3. What is your favorite posture?

My favorite posture is probably Standing Bow Pulling Pose, Dandayamana-Dhanurasana. When I first began my practice I thought I would never be able to do this posture but over time I have worked really hard on getting deeper and deeper into it and it has become one of my favorites. I even did it in Italy next to the Leaning Tower of Pisa!

4. Where are you from?

My least favorite posture is Half Moon Pose with Hands to Feet Pose, Ardha-Chandrasana with Pada-Hastasana. Although I like hands to feet, I struggle with Half Moon. Most of my strength is in my legs and I have a hard time coming out of my lower back and doing Half Moon properly- but I am working on it.

5. What is your least favorite posture?

I was born and raised in Miami. My parents moved to Jacksonville when I was in college but I came back to Miami on my own for law school and stayed.

6. How has yoga changed your life?

Not only has yoga made me physically and emotionally stronger, but it has also taught me that it is ok to take time out of my day and forget about all of the stress of the outside world and to focus on only myself for a little while.

7. How has doing the 30 day challenge changed your life?

Unfortunately, I havent had the opportunity to do a full 30 day challenge yet, but I have completed my own personal 30 day challenges and have felt a great sense of accomplishment. I cant wait to be able to do 30 consecutive days!

8. What's your favorite restaurant in our neighborhood?, In the world?

There are so many great restaurants around my area, its too hard to pick a favorite. Im a huge fan of Thai food, so any place that has great pad thai and tom yum goong soup- count me in!

9. Who is a special inspiration to you?

All of the instructors and staff at BYCM. Since day one they have all been extremely welcoming and encouraging. They are really what keeps me coming back.

10. What makes you smile?

My wonderful and supportive friends, family, and boyfriend and of course dogs- namely my gd children, two wonderful English Bulldogs, but really any and all pups bring a huge smile to my face.
